Try a module free
Finance, Show Day, Registration, Gear & Trucking, Media, and the smaller
modules can each run as a free trial before you decide to pay for them. A
trial is the real thing — the same pages, the same data, nothing watered
down — with an end date on it.
The one promise that matters: nothing you set up during a trial is ever
removed. If you let it lapse, your work waits for you. If you buy it, the
pages come straight back with everything exactly where you left it.
Starting a trial
There are two ways in.
- Start it yourself
Open the module from the menu, or go straight to its page. If it isn’t on
for your company you’ll see the locked page — Finance is an add-on — and,
when we’ve switched self-serve trials on for you, a button reading Start
a 30-day trial. Press it. The page loads for real a moment later, the
module appears in your menu, and the trial clock starts.Only company admins see the button, and it only shows once per module:
a trial is a one-time thing on this path. - Ask us
If the locked page doesn’t offer a trial, use Ask us to enable it (or
email MeowCaniHelpYou@tryherdingcats.com). We can start a trial of 14,
30, 60, or 90 days for you, and we can extend one that’s running.
Some modules carry others with them. Finance brings Receivables, Payables,
Merch, and Sponsorship; Show Day brings Ticketing; Registration brings
Tuition & Passes; Freight brings Inventory. A trial
switches the whole family on together, and they switch off together.
While it’s running
Go to Company, then Plan & billing. The module’s card reads
Trial · 12 days left (or however many remain) with the exact end date
underneath, and a Buy button that takes you to checkout. Buying during
the trial doesn’t interrupt anything — the pages don’t blink, and the
countdown simply stops.
During the last seven days, a slim reminder appears across the top of every
page for admins: Your Finance trial ends in 5 days. It has a Keep
Finance link and a close button. Closing it keeps it closed for you (it
doesn’t come back on the next page), though it will reappear if we extend
the trial.
The reminders
Company admins get three notifications, through whichever channels you’ve
switched on for Add-on trial ending in Settings → Notifications:
- 7 days before — Your Finance trial ends in 7 days.
- 1 day before — Your Finance trial ends tomorrow.
- When it ends — Your Finance trial ended — pick up where you left off.
Each one links to Plan & billing. If you’d rather not hear about it, turn
the category off there; the trial still ends on its date either way.
The last day
At the end date the module switches off — the pages lock again and the
menu entry disappears. That’s all that happens. Your invoices, your
vendors, your run-of-show, your ticket types: all of it stays in your
workspace, untouched.
On Plan & billing the card now reads Trial ended, with Your Finance
trial ended Oct 2 — pick up where you left off and the same Buy
button. Buy it and everything is back within a few seconds of the payment
confirming.
Keeping it
Buy it from Plan & billing at any point — during the trial or after. If
online checkout isn’t switched on for your company yet, the card says
Ask us to keep it instead; one email and we turn it on the same day.
Ask us to extend the trial. We can add another 30 days, or set a specific
date, without touching anything you’ve built.
